REALLY COAL ATTRACTION WEBSITE DESIGNERS
Tour-Ed Mine & Museum is a real coal mine located in Tarentum, PA. The retired coal mine was modified into an attraction in 1970 and has continued to operate as an attraction near Pittsburgh, PA, passing more than 1 million visitors through their mine shaft doors. Needing a rebranding, they contacted us to help increase their visibility in the marketplace and strategize the way to do it.
Attraction Website Designers
Tour-Ed Mine chose MJC to rebrand Western Pennsylvania’s premiere mine attraction. We brought an old mine back to life through an attention-grabbing, educational website, exposing the history and science behind this “really coal” attraction. Real tour photos enhance each page of the website with exciting copy and other content to educate and retain visitors on the site. One can imagine their day at Tour-Ed Mine as the website takes visitors through a virtual tour, enticing one to schedule a visit or field trip. They also have an annual Haunted Mine tour throughout October.
Driving Qualified Traffic to a “Coal” Site
Elementary schools, grade schools and organizations were contacted through a custom created electronic mailing showcasing their attraction and the rich history and science behind it. Teachers were able to visit the website directly from the email and request a field trip on the customized contact page. Since then, many schools book their annual class field trips every year and the strategy has been so successful that the Tour-Ed Mine & Museum is booked for years to come.
